Every year the Desert Dog Police K9 Trials & Public Safety Expo invites Federal, Military and Police K9’s from all over the state and country to come and test their skills in a spirited two-day competition. K9 teams compete in various exercises and events to simulate real-life scenarios that include handler protection, apprehension, narcotic and explosives detection, tactical obedience and agility.
Watching these amazing K9s and their partners compete is a fun and exciting event for the whole family. In addition to approximately 70 K9 teams competing, there will be Static Police Displays, SWAT and Aviation Demonstrations and Public Safety Vehicles. Over 50 vendors will be set up in our vendor area promoting their local businesses and selling a wide variety of products and dog related merchandise. Concession stands will be open selling food and drinks. We expect over 10,000 spectators this year! Admission is free, and free event programs are provided to all attendees.
Our ALECA store will be open selling K9 t-shirts, event t-shirts, k9 gear, plush K9s, K9 hats and much more. All proceeds from sales at the ALECA store go right back into our association helping to fund events like the K9 Trials.
This annual event is not funded by any law enforcement agency or government monies. All costs associated with the event must be raised through sales at our ALECA Store, donations, sales of program ad space, or vendor booth fees. If you or your business would like to become involved there are many ways to help support or sponsor the K9 Trials.
These trying times have been very hard on many businesses so we are keeping our vendor booth prices as low as possible to allow businesses and organizations to join us for our event. Vendor booth prices are as follows:

$100 Non-Profit Organizations
$100 Police/Military Recruitment Booths
If the 2021 Desert Dog Police K9 Trials are canceled, all fees will be refunded 100%.
The Desert Dog Police K9 Trials is an excellent sales and networking opportunity for your organization. This will be the 18th K9 Trials and we just keep getting bigger every year. This year we have promoted our event with additional advertising and television commercials. With estimations in excess of six-thousand attendees over both days, there will be plenty of business for all.
Vendor booth fees include an approximate 10’ x 10’ booth space and free WiFi. Our designated vendor space is in the North Hall, adjacent to the Equidone.
For an additional fee, an electrical outlet, tables, table coverings, and chairs will be available for rent directly through our contracted supplier. Information and instructions will be provided when you purchase your booth space on our website.
You must bring all supplies, needed to operate your booth. Moving carts, dollies, canopies, etc. Tables, chairs, etc. must be provided by you if not rented.
Set up is Friday, April 16th. (Specific times TBA) Gates open 8 am Saturday/7 am Sunday and we ask you to be ready to go at that time. Public events start at 9 am Saturday/8 am Sunday and run until approximately 3 pm each day. No early booth breakdowns will be allowed.
The vendor area will be locked up at night and you are welcome to leave your booth up overnight. However, you assume all responsibility for your merchandise and equipment. The City of Scottsdale and the Desert Dog Police K9 Trials will not be responsible for any loss or damage. We will have security posted inside the vendor area at night.
Due to concession agreements with WestWorld, NO outside food or drink vendors are allowed, including food trucks in the parking lot. Businesses selling food packaged for later consumption may give out small pre-packaged, individual samples.
Dog Rescues, Animal/Dog Trainers, Groomers and Vendors: No more than 4 dogs are limited to the space INSIDE each vendor booth. No dogs are allowed outside vendor booths except for bathroom breaks. No demonstrations or dog training will be allowed at the K9 Trials. We encourage you to use videos at your booth to share information about your company or dogs. Vendors must clean up after their dogs and exercise appropriate caution and safety.
ALL FEDERAL, CITY AND COUNTY MANDATES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
Additional sanitizing stations are in place for public and event staff and increased cleaning of common spaces and surfaces will take place. We will be enforcing mask requirements and following social distancing guidelines. All vendors to follow the following Covid-19 Guidelines:
Submission of payment does not constitute acceptance as a vendor. All vendors will be vetted and approved by staff prior to acceptance as a vendor at the K9 Trials.

At the conclusion of the competition the K9 officers attend an awards dinner with numerous raffle drawings. We would greatly appreciate raffle donations of gift cards, gift baskets, products or services for our incredible K9 Teams.

A great way to show your support is to sponsor a K9 team. Your $150 donation will cover the registration fees for a one handler and their K9.
You have the option to list a tribute for your sponsorship that will be printed in the event program. It’s a great way to highlight your business, charitable cause, or honor a loved one.
Due to volume we can not pair your sponsorship with a specific team. Teams receiving sponsorships will be selected by need.
